getting over it.

this week, eli was the canary in the coal mine- he woke up barfing, and 2 days later, jason and i were blessed with the same awesome symptoms. needless to say, we're all a little wiped, but we're feeling much better at this point.

late christmas presents.

okay, he got this FOR christmas, but it's been languishing in the hall closet since we didn't have anywhere to put it. he's getting over a stomach bug (very gross) and it snowed today, so it was all about the indoor fun. luckily he noticed this in the closet and begged me to haul it out and put it together, which i did. thanks, santa (mom)!

later on in the day, he managed to accidentally scrawl out a "W" and he was so excited- "i just made a W!!!" i tried to get him to repeat his mistake but he would only draw single lines. oh well, i have a feeling this will be a good alphabet teaching tool.

eli has given up on his high chair, preferring to sit in a normal chair, sans booster, at the table with us. we can't get a booster seat onto our chairs anyway, they have a curved seat. he likes to eat from regular dishes, using regular silverware, however- the only thing he's ever really successful at shoveling into his mouth by himself is cereal. (and he makes a great mess while doing so, too.)

also, check out the awesome table jason got me for christmas. thanks, honey!

he had this little plastic drum stick that he got as part of a set of instruments for christmas. he asked for it in the car- he said, "i want my little tiny bat with the happy face!" my response was pretty much, "..." and he kept repeating himself. finally i looked down and realized what he was talking about (there's a little smiley face on the end of the drum stick) and i handed it to him. at the park, he tried to use it like a baseball bat.
