it's really hard to get a picture of a kid having a fun on a trampoline- he just looks awkward and goofy in all the pictures i took, but whatever- he was going nuts on this thing, he loved it.

eli and poppy rocking paper pirate hats and eye patches:

we used an old storage box as a treasure chest, and drew a map. i hid it in his closet and then we trekked around the house searching for buried treasure. TWO YEAR OLDS ARE AWESOME.

singing sensation

orly

last night at dana's belated wedding reception, eli busted out his inner rock star and serenaded a crowd of charmed adults. it was his first time at a real microphone and he relished every second of it- it was pretty damn hilarious. he crooned something unintelligible and then squeezed out about half a verse of "chicken soup with rice" before we took the mic back. (prompting a massive tantrum, which we distracted him from with grapes and a run around outside in the courtyard.) i wish these pictures showed the scope of the moment, but you'll just have to deal with my description. maybe one of dana's photos will make it my way so you can see how many people were watching. so funny!

we will probably go back with renee & the boys soon. we picked almost 2 pounds of berries and it only cost like 3 bucks. woo hoo! eli had fun picking berries but he wasn't very good with the quality control, we kept having to ditch white ones. sorry, kruger farm.

hey, am i the only person who thinks that "the giving tree" is the most depressing book ever written? i read it to eli sometimes and it makes me want to shoot myself. WHAT IS THE MORAL?! BE A DOORMAT, OR A JERK? WHERE'S THE IN-BETWEEN?!
